RULES OF PLAY:

Disorderly conduct or action detrimental to the experience for all players will not be tolerated. This is a no smoking facility.

    1. Chip Stack Each player will begin with $2000 worth of chips, distributed at Check-In: After the contestant enters the playing area, all chips must be visibly displayed at all times and cannot me removed from the playing area. Tournament workers will provide security if you leave the table. Absolutely no co-mingling or sharing of chips between players (Violation will result in immediate forfeit).

2. Chip Race From time to time, we will “color up” chips by replacing lower denomination chips ($25, $50, etc.)with higher ($500, $1000, etc.). As chips are taken out of play, the odd chip(s) at each table will go into a pot. A card drawing will be held and the odd chips will be awarded to the player with high chard. Those chips will then be replaced with higher denomination chips.

3. TOURNAMENT: Check-in starts at 5:00 pm. Play will begin promptly at 6:00pm. With 10 players per table. Entrants will be assigned to a table through a random drawing. The tournament is played until one player has all the chips.

4. Re-buys Unlimited re-buys until intermission. An additional $2,000 worth of chips may be purchased at a cost of $50.

5. Add-Ons At intermission each surviving player is entitled to purchase $5,000 chips at the cost of $50. Each player is limited to one add-on.

6. Seat Position/Dealing Dealing will be handled by the players, until the last table at which time one of the Pit Bosses will deal. The dealer button and seat position for the first hand will be randomly determined. One card will be dealt to each player – the recipient of the highest card deals the first hand. The remaining players will rearrange their positions at the table and sit to the left of the dealer in order, high card to lowest. If two or more players draw the same card, the first card dealt gets the higher value.

7. Full Tables Desired As the tournament progresses and players are eliminated, tournament “pit bosses” will combine tables and try to maintain an equal number of players at the remaining tables. Players going from a broken table to fill in seats assume the rights and responsibilities of the position. The can get the big blind small blind or dealer button.

8. Final Table
a. When the tournament is down to its final 10 players, the “Final Table” round will begin.
b. The seat position and dealer button for the final table will be randomly determined (See Rule No. 6).
c. Players at the Final Table will play until a chip winner has emerged or Rule No 11 (Time Limit Rule) is invoked.
d. If two or more players get eliminated in the same hand, the player who started the hand with the most chips gets the higher finish and awarded the corresponding prize for that placement.
e. When two players remain in the tournament, the player due to receive the big blind will do so and the player in the small blind position will inherit the dealer button.

9. Rules of Play In NL Hold-Em, players receive two down cards as their personal hand (hole cards), and after which there is a round of betting. Three board cards are turned simultaneously (called the “flop”) and another round of betting occurs. The next tow cards are turned up one at a time, with a round of betting after each card. The board cards are community cards, and a player may use any five-card combination from among the board and personal cards. A player may even use all of the board cards and no personal cards to form a hand (“play the board”).

10. Blinds The game will be played with tow blinds (the “Little blind” and the “Big blind”). The Big Blind will start at $50 and the Little Blind will be $25. The blinds will be increased every 20 minutes (See schedule below). A player who cannot pay 100% of a Blind is simply “All In.”

11. Time Limit We desire to determine the winner(s) through regular play, not a “showdown” caused by escalating blinds. However, the game must be concluded within six (6) hours, according to the Kentucky State Law. If no winner has bee declared after six hours, the remaining cash prizes shall be added together and divided among the surviving players, based on their total chip count. Example: Three players remain. The prizes (1st:$10,000: 2nd; $4,000: 3rd; $2,000) are added together for a total of $16,000. The prizes will be divided among the three players.

12. Betting Rounds

a. The dealer deals each player their own two cards face-down (hole or pocket cards)
b. 1st betting round.
c. The dealer burns a card then turns over three community cards face-up (the flop).
d. 2nd betting round.
e. The dealer burns another card then turns over 1 more community card(the turn, 4th street).
f. 3rd betting round.
g. The dealer burns another card then turns over 1 final community card (the river, 5th street)
h. Last betting round.
i. Showdown (every remaining player shows hand with bettor showing first.

13. Raising When raising, a player must either put the amount of raise out in one motion or state the raise amount. Player’s verbal declarations in or out of turn are binding. There is no restriction on the number of raises allowed during a betting round.

14. Side Pots Any player may bet any amount of money he has on the table. No player can lose a pot because he does not have enough money to call a bet. For example, a player raises $200. Another player in the game who only has $100 can say, “I’m all in” and if no other player enters the pot, the initial bettor would take back $100 of his bet, and the cards would be dealt to conclusion with no further betting (When this occurs, both players immediately turn up their pocket cards). If a third player wishes to engage, he could call the full $200, or raise even more. If he called the $100 main pot, for which all three players are eligible to win. It would contain $300, and a “side pot” of $200. The two players with additional chips remaining in the hand are allowed to bet against each other; to the extent they have chips remaining, on the future rounds. These bets apply only to the side pot, and if one side pot player folds, the other takes the side pot immediately, regardless of whether or not his hand is superior to the all-in layer’s hand, the all in player is contesting only the $300 main pot.

15. Showdown All remaining players must use one of the following choices at the showdown. THE CARDS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
a. Two pocket cards and three board cards
b. One pocket card and four board cards
c. No pocket cards and five board cards. (“laying the board”)

16. Slow Playing The practice of “slow playing” is discouraged. Any player may call for the use of a clock if he feels another is taking an unreasonable amount of time to make decisions. If the clock is called for: The slow player will be given a reasonable amount of time. Once this time has passed and a clock is called for, a player will be given one (1) minute to make a decision. If action has not been taken within one minute, there will be a ten (10) second countdown. If a player has not acted on his hand by the time the countdown is over, the hand will be dead.

17. Chatter/Exposure Players are obligated to protect the other players in the tournament at all times. Discussing cards discarded or hand possibilities are not allowed. Players should not expose his or her cards during game play.

18. Prizes 85% of the player’s initial entry fees will be placed into the prize pool (Remember, we’re playing for charity!) The prize structure is approximately based on the following distribution and will be nnounced at the first break.

19. Mis-Deal If a player’s hole card is revealed; the card will be shown to all players and be used as the burn card. The deal of the hand shall be completed, and a new card shall be given to replace the exposed card. The exposed card is displayed to all players at the table and announced by the dealer. The burn card shall replace the exposed card, and the exposed card shall become the burn card.
